UNICEF HK and the Department of Health are co-organizing the “Nourish Out Loud: Breastfeeding Short Video Competition 2026”. Share your creative video to help build a breastfeeding-friendly culture – all entries welcome, from companies to individuals.
Theme:
Entries must incorporate elements that promote a breastfeeding‑friendly culture and encourage the public to support mothers in continuing breastfeeding.
Submissions may revolve around one of the following themes:
- Establishing breastfeeding‑friendly workplaces
- Building breastfeeding‑friendly communities
- Fostering breastfeeding‑friendly premises
- Supporting breast milk donation
- Other content related to the promotion of breastfeeding

- Each eligible participant will receive a certificate of appreciation.
- Each category will have the following awards and prizes:
Most On-Theme Award (1 winner) : Trophy and supermarket vouchers (valued at HKD 3,000)
Most Inspirational Award (1 winner) : Trophy and supermarket vouchers (valued at HKD 3,000)
Most Innovative Award (1 winner) : Trophy and supermarket vouchers (valued at HKD 3,000)
- Winning entries and awardees will be invited to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony during the World Breastfeeding Week 2026 celebration event on July 31.
Judging Criteria:
- Theme Relevance (50%) : Positive focus, closely aligned with the core issues of breastfeeding
- Innovation (20%) : Innovative filming techniques and unique concepts
- Inspirational Impact (20%) : Natural emotional expression that resonates with the audience
- Quality (10%) : Overall visual appeal and clarity of presentation

Entries Requirements:
- Duration: 30 seconds or less
- Language: Cantonese, Mandarin or English are all acceptable; subtitles are recommended
- Format of Creation: May include text, images, video, animation, audio, illustration, and other creative formats. Artificial intelligence (AI) generation technologies may be used, but the tools and techniques applied must be specified. AI technology may assist in generating scenery content, but it must not be used to create human characters. All human characters must be real individuals, not fictional, and must have given their consent.
- Specs: MP4, 16:9 or 9:16 aspect ratio, minimum HD resolution (≥1280×720p).
- Submission: File name of submitted entry must follow this format “Participant Name/Company Name _ Category” (e.g., Chan Tai Man_Individual / ABC Company_Corporate).
- Do not include any personal or organizational information, including names, contact details and company/organization names, in the video.
Competition Terms:
- Submitted entries must be free from any copyright disputes.
- The content of entries must comply with the laws and regulations of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including laws and regulations relating to national security and intellectual property rights). Any entries deemed unsuitable for public display — for example, those containing defamatory, violent, pornographic, vulgar, indecent, obscene, or otherwise offensive language or behaviour— will be disqualified, and participants or participating organizations may not raise objections.
- Once submitted, entries — whether awarded or not — grant the organizers, UNICEF Hong Kong and the Department of Health, the right to use them in promotional activities and platforms related to breastfeeding.

You may use a mobile phone or digital camera. The competition places greater emphasis on the theme and storytelling of the work to promote breastfeeding rather than the equipment used.
Q4: I am an amateur producer. Does this mean I have a lower chance of winning?
The competition focuses on the theme and storytelling of the work to promote breastfeeding, not solely on professional filmmaking techniques.
Q5: Is there a fee to participate in the competition?
Participation is free of charge. Any requests for payment, transfer, or fees are unrelated to this contest, and participants should remain vigilant.
Q6: Can I submit a physical copy of my entry?
